On Saturday, March 15th , Maze Books is proud to host author Chris Fink (WNIJ) and Illustrator John Porcellino (Spit-and-a-Half) for a reading, signing, and Q&A session on their newest release from Bored Wolves (Kraków), “Forage Like a Bear”. The event will begin with a reading, followed by a question-and-answer segment, and will conclude with a signing. There is no cost to attend. The event will run from 12-3pm. About the Book
Forage Like a Bear is a collection of micro-essays on nature, family, and life by Chris Fink as heard on WNIJ Dekalb (NPR).
About the Author
“Chris Fink is the author of two short story collections, Farmer’s Almanac: A Work of Fiction and Add This to the List of Things That You Are. He is a professor of English and Environmental Studies at Beloit College and editor-in-chief of the Beloit Fiction Journal. A journal editor for more than 20 years, Fink founded two national short story prizes, the John Steinbeck Award, and the Hamlin Garland Award. Recent stories of his have appeared in the Mississippi Review, New Orleans Review, and Witness. He is also a regular contributor to Northern Public Radio, where he produces monthly radio essays about the intersection of the self and the natural world.” (via Illinois.edu).
About the Illustrator
“John Porcellino was born in Chicago in 1968, and has been writing, drawing, and publishing minicomics, comics, and graphic novels for over thirty years. His celebrated self-published series King-Cat Comics, begun in 1989, has inspired a generation of cartoonists.
