About this Event

Welcome to for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow was enuf event--- A ChoreoPoem written by Ntozake Shange.

Come join us for a powerful evening of drama, poetry, and emotion as we bring to life Ntozake Shange's acclaimed work. Witness the strength, resilience, and beauty of colored women sharing their stories in a way that will touch your soul. This is a must-see event for anyone who wants to experience the artistic brilliance of the for colored girls production. Grab your friends and immerse yourself in this unforgettable theatrical experience.

This play contains strong language, including racial slurs and homophobic language, which may be disturbing and triggering for some audience members. Viewer discretion is advised. This production is NOT recommended for children under age 16.

There are six performances over two weekends of this play at CCT: January 10-11 and 17-18, 2025, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and two Sunday matinees at 4 PM on January 12 and 19, 2025.

Sayeeda Carter directs the cast of Kaden Grouby, Evangeline Gumbs, Laurelle “LD” Holley, Azadi Knight, Chevon Miles, Keturah Nurse, and Shanell Petersen.

General admission tickets may be purchased in advance online at Eventbrite.

Performances are held at the Caribbean Community Theatre at #18 Estate Orange Grove in Christiansted, St. Croix.

CCT productions are jointly supported by a grant from the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
