Sasha Andrews | Former Pro Player + Senior Canadian National Team Player
Meet Sasha Andrews. An Edmonton, Alberta native. Seasoned Canadian women's national team player who played in three world cups.
Andrews, who first came to prominence as a significant member of Canada’s memorable silver medal performance at the first-ever U19 World Cup in Canada in 2002. Andrews represented Canada in the youth and senior levels from 2000-2010, making her debut for the senior women at the 2002 Algarve Cup.
The formidable center back scored her first goal for Canada in August 2003 in Edmonton and finished fourth with the Canadian Women at the 2003 Women’s World Cup. She also won a bronze medal with Canada at the XV Pan American Games in Rio in 2007.
Andrews played for two NCAA Division 1 program before playing professionally. First, at Southern Methodist University in Texas and finishing her collegiate career at the University of Nebraska.
Additionally, Andrews played internationally around the world for over a decade, making stops in the top women’s leagues of Canada, the United States, Norway, Australia, and Iceland.
The powerhouse player turned coach is involved in women’s empowerment who was also featured in an international documentary along with many prominent women’s soccer players who climbed Kilimanjaro in 2017.
Coach Andrews has coached extensively in both Canada and the US, and most recently was an assistant coach for Concordia University in Montreal.
