About this Event
The #defyhatenow initiative seeks to provide community-based and data driven solutions to the problem of hate speech, disinformation, and misinformation. #defyhatenow Cameroon is Mobilising Civic Action to Counter Violent Extremism Online and Offline.
Considering the immense relevance of the diaspora community in influencing both socio-economic progress as well as the conflict situation in Cameroon, #defyhatenow engages with and learns from the diaspora through football which serves as a space for community dialogues with the aim to provide a platform to identify and support those voices and actions in mitigating and transforming the conflict.

The #defyhatenow initiative in Cameroon is a project by Berlin-based r0g_agency for open culture and critical transformation gGmbH, in collaboration with Civic Watch (Yaoundé) implemented with means of the German Federal Foreign Office.

L'initiative #defyhatenow vise à fournir des solutions communautaires et fondées sur des données au problème des discours de haine, de la désinformation et de la mésinformation. #defyhatenow Cameroun mobilise l'action civique pour contrer l'extrémisme violent en ligne et hors ligne.
Compte tenu de l'immense importance de la communauté de la diaspora pour influencer à la fois le progrès socio-économique et la situation de conflit au Cameroun, #defyhatenow s'engage avec la diaspora et apprend d'elle par le biais du football, qui sert d'espace pour les dialogues communautaires dans le but de fournir une plate-forme pour identifier et soutenir ces voix et actions dans l'atténuation et la transformation du conflit.
