About this Event
Ghillie Basan is a Scottish writer, broadcaster, and food anthropologist who has written over 50 books spanning an incredible breadth of food cultures, some of which have been nominated for and won international awards. She has been described as ‘one of the finest writers on Middle Eastern food’ and the 'original spice girl'. You may have heard her on BBC Radio and certainly will have seen many of her cookbooks on our shelves.
Spend a summer evening with Ghillie as she chats about her life and how she got into pairing food and whisky with Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food & Drink.
She'll also be bringing some of the magic she creates on her Whisky Food Safaris to The Cookbook Shop with very special food and whisky pairings.
At the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to purchase a signed and dedicated copy of her book, Food Whisky Life.
