About this Event
Date: Saturday, October 18
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Celebrate the flavors of fall with apples, canning and community!
October is the perfect time to enjoy the bounty of apple season and this hands-on class will show you how to turn fresh apples into a variety of homemade pantry staples you’ll love all year long.
Together we’ll peel, core, and prepare apples to create:
- Classic applesauce (with plain and flavored options)
- Rich and velvety apple butter
- Sweet and spiced apple pie filling
While making these delicious treats you’ll learn the principles of safe water bath canning, how to adjust recipes with flavoring options and tips for getting consistent results. We’ll cover everything from food safety and equipment to storage and creative uses for your preserves.
Whether you’re brand new to canning or looking to build your skills, this class offers both practical instruction and the joy of working with a seasonal favorite. Best of all, you’ll take home four jars, one of each apple product to enjoy, share or gift.
Come join us, roll up your sleeves and discover how simple and satisfying it can be to preserve the taste of autumn!
