Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE Termly
Develop your knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition, improve your practical food preparation and cooking skills.
About this event
This is a 1 year GCSE course, based upon food preparation, nutrition and food science.
You will apply knowledge and understanding to complete investigations and practical activities.
The course prepares you for assessment of " Food Investigation and Food Preparation". you will gain advice on practice questions to prepare you for written assessment.
We will be learning about:
* Nutrition
*Food Provenance and Food Choice
*Cooking and Food Preparation
*Preparation and Cooking Techniques
As part of the course we will complete the following NEA (Non Examined Assessments) assessments:
*Food Science Investigation ( 15% of overall mark)
*Food Preparation (35% of overall mark)
There is also a written examination paper in June 2025(50% of overall mark)
This is mainly an online course, 7 weeks of the half term will be delivered via google classroom. Within the 60 minutes we will complete theory, and prepare for assessment. There are also 10 additional practical (hourly) lessons as part of the teaching schedule. |(See below) Part of of the course is based on individual, independent cooking, so there is a food cost implication.

This Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE Termly is suitable for those of 13+. We also accomodate all dietary requirements.
*Please note this is £117per half term (fluctuates depending on number of weeks)there are 5.5 half terms in the course. The overall cost without booking fees is £585

About Worship Worth Experiences
Worship Worth Experiences is based in the Midlands conveniently located within Canwell, Sutton Coldfield, established in 2019 specialising in teaching food and creating unique learning experiences for all, whether that be in person or online.
At Worship Worth Experiences, Alison Worship and her team offer 1:1 cooking tuition and group cooking classes for children at KS3 and GCSE. Classes are taught online, with a mixture of practical and theory. There are also in person practical sessions on site held termly as part of the GCSE course in their indoor and outdoor kitchen.
When learning with Worship Worth Experiences, children have access to live lessons, lesson recordings, resources, regular feedback from their tutor, Alison. Worship Worth Experiences combines the expertise of a qualified teacher and examiner with the flexibility of home education or private study. In doing this, Alison and her team offer a friendly, supportive and inclusive learning environment, where the relationships between tutor, students and their families are considered to be as important as progress and learning itself. Thus, helping each child achieve their full potential.
Worship Worth Experiences is delighted to be working with Tutors and Exams in facilitating children to attain the GCSE qualifications they work hard to achieve.
Alison qualified as a teacher in 2012; she has an excellent track record. She is DBS checked. Alison has a passion for food and has 15 years experience working in catering and business management. She holds Food Hygiene Level 2, is First Aid trained and holds a 5 star Food Hygiene rating.
