Food Forest Basics class is on Sunday, January 25th and is a special one! We got a lot of freeze damage so the landscape looks almost unrecognizable from just a few short months ago. The good news is that, although to some, the food forest may look like a "wasteland," it is still extremely productive and giving us enough food that we are able to harvest daily! During this month's walking tour of the food forest, attendees will get to see that it's not a "wasteland" after all! You will learn first hand about how to deal with freezes, what to do to prepare and what to do to recover. See trees that appear dead and learn how and when to tell if they aren't! So even though the landscape looks very brown, you get to see up close how a working food forest still thrives and produces enough food that we harvest daily - for ourselves and for our animals! Beyond that, it's not too early to start preparing for Spring planting so if you want to get a head start on your Spring garden list, or if you interested in starting a garden or a food forest, but simply don't know where to begin, this class is for you! Let Lonny show you that the time to start growing your food is now! We can show you how we started from scratch and built our property up to the thriving food forest it is now - surviving and thriving in Florida’s heat and cold, producing food 365 days a year!Class is $20 per person. Class begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 25th. Save your spot by signing up on our website under the CLASSES/CONSULTATIONS tab. We look forward to sharing this special edition of our Food Forest Basics class with you. See you Sunday morning!
