Food As Medicine for Diabetes is a 12-week class that will show you how to manage type 2 diabetes and how food plays a role in controlling your blood sugar. This class is for you if you:
Struggle to keep your blood sugar under control
Have limited access to healthy meal options
Are ready to learn how to make healthier food choices
Get Healthy, Live Well’s diabetes and nutrition experts will guide you as you learn how to lower your blood pressure and prevent or delay diabetes-related health problems, so you can live a longer, healthier life.
Each class will include a cooking demo!
To qualify for the program, you must:
Be 18 or older
Have HbA1c levels higher than 7.0
Unsure if you're eligible? Registrants will be called by a Get Healthy, Live Well wellness coordinator to confirm eligibility into the program and answer any questions.
