About this Event
Food as Liberation: Congo Edition
Join us for a special Food as Liberation gathering in honour of Black History Month. Open to all, this session continues our series highlighting the foods, histories, and struggles of communities such as Palestine, the Uyghurs, and Sudan. This time, we turn our focus to the Congo.
Through a shared meal and personal storytelling, we will explore how food can create pathways to understanding, solidarity, and collective care. This Black History Month edition centres lived experience, struggle, resilience, and joy.
Please note: this is not a cooking class, but an immersive, community-based experience that invites learning about the Congo’s history and ongoing struggles through food, conversation, and connection.
Childminding will be provided.
