This workshop offers an in-depth exploration of foundational food and nutrition principles, empowering participants to make informed, evidence-based decisions about their dietary habits. Through an engaging and educational format, attendees will learn how nutrition impacts physical health, energy levels, and overall well-being.
Participants will gain practical, research-informed strategies for mindful and balanced eating, including how to evaluate food choices, understand individual nutritional needs, and apply sustainable habits that support long-term wellness. Attendees are encouraged to bring their nutrition-related questions and concerns, as faculty experts Dr. Sangeeta Shrivastava and Dr. Fatheeema Begum Subhan will be available to address questions and provide guidance throughout the session.
Presented in partnership with Hope Esperanza and the Cal Poly Pomona Food and Nutrition Department, this workshop is designed to be evidence-based, culturally responsive, and accessible to diverse audiences. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of nutrition fundamentals, practical tools for improving overall wellness, and greater confidence in making food choices that support long-term health.
