About this Event
Food & Beverage Collaboration Workshop
This half day workshop is presented by Incahoots and supported by the FoodBowl. It is proudly sponsored by ASB.

Incahoots helps businesses realise the power of collaboration - when we collaborate and share our business challenges, we can be smarter and stronger together.

Collaborating is the new marketing buzzword, but in this half-day workshop we aim to show you that it can be more than just brand “mash ups”. We will show you how to utilise a collaborative mindset to solve wider business problems, such as sustainability or creating new export markets, in a strategic, fun and cost effective way.

This workshop, for food and beverage businesses, will inspire you to embrace collaboration as an effective way to drive business growth. It will provide an overview of what collaboration can be and what best-in-class collaboration looks like. It includes two breakout sessions where you get an opportunity to work on an identified business problem with like-minded people within the food and beverage industry.

Programme:
  • How collaboration creates a learning and growth environment, and can enhance brand values and market positioning
  • Ways of collaborating - from cross-brand innovation and marketing, to growth strategies, export marketing partnerships, and everything in between
  • What to consider when you embark on a collaborative partnership or project, from defining your goals to how to approach a potential partner
  • Examples of world class NZ collaborations from within the F&B sector
  • A case study on how collaboration helped grow I Love Food Co from a stand at a farmers market to a multi-category brand available in supermarkets nationwide and exported to Australia and Asia
  • Breakout workshop groups - you will take part in two group sessions designed to identify potential collaborations that will help solve an issue faced by your business
  • Morning tea is included in the ticket price.

Breakout workshop groups:

After registration you will receive a short survey that will help identify the two breakout groups you will be participating in. This will help ensure you get some face-time with businesses that represent the most potential for you to find collaboration opportunities alongside. Think of it as 'business networking with a purpose' - there will not be any ‘non-versations’ had!

About the presenters:

This workshop will be presented by the co-founders and directors of Incahoots.

Caro Gibson is a PR junkie. Fuelled by a passion for effective and engaging communications in all its forms, Caro loves nothing more than bringing brands to life. The corporate world saw her navigating the business media and a myriad of stakeholders. The small-to-medium sized tourism business sector preceded her next move to the fast-paced world of FMCG. Here she wove together media strategy, building a committed and passionate community of consumers who could champion the brand through social media, and launching new products through events and collaborations that created noise and got attention. Caro’s focus now is helping brands realise the power of working together in collaborative, imaginative and engaging ways.

Growing a business from the ‘ground up’ is something Maree Glading can speak to from experience. She was the co-founder of I Love Food Co (I Love Pies, I Love Baking), a food business which started at a local farmer’s market and quickly grew to be a strong challenger brand within supermarkets throughout NZ as well as being exported internationally.

Maree has strong commercial acumen and excels in building brands that connect with consumers. Prior to starting her food company, Maree held senior marketing positions both here in NZ and overseas. She is also a skilled brand strategist and works with F&B companies to realise their growth ambitions . In 2018 Maree was a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.
