FOLKESTONE LIVE IS BACK FOR AN ENCORE
Folkestone’s fringe theatre and comedy festival is back for the second year running
thanks to popular demand.
More than 1,000 people came to see 30 professional/fringe local, Kent and London based acts for last year’s first ever Folkestone Live festival of theatre and comedy.
After positive feedback from audience members, the second festival of theatre and comedy is back all weekend long Friday, September 19 to Sunday, 21 September with 29 shows.
Folkestone Live, festival of theatre and comedy takes place in 3 venues at the Grand Burstin Hotel, on the Harbour and The Cigar and Olive, Rendevous Street.
The weekend is set to bring a wide range of theatre, cabaret, children 29 shows, and stand-up comedy in the town, showcasing local talent as well as well all around Kent and London.
Theresa Burns, one of Folkestone Live’s organisers, said: “Our first ever festival was a resounding success and proved that there is a huge appetite in the town for live fringe theatre where performers can experiment with work in progress and tickets are
cheap."
Funding for the weekend comes from Creative Folkestone, Tony Hills Estate, Vita Paladino, Folkestone Town Council and Folkestone Rotary Club.
