Tarai was established in Tallinn (Estonia) in 2011 by Estonia born Chuvash Aleksandr Aidarov, Einar Muoni and other musicians. Aidarov is a Chuvash
heritage musician.
The band released two studio albums: "Эпир те маттур / We are good" (2020) and "Пуш Праппан / Empty Drum" (2022) and music video “Empty Drum” in 2024.
Tarai writes songs in cooperation with modern Chuvash poets or by using classic poetry.
