Jennifer Reid performer, folklorist, and renowned “broadside balladess” - will share new songs, old traditions, and stories from across the globe.Jennifer will end the night with an informal singaround, shaped by the audience. She’ll share songs she learned from folk singers in Aotearoa (New Zealand) during her recent travels, and invites you to bring a song of your own - whether traditional, personal, or simply one you love to sing.
Seb Stone is a traditional singer, whistle player and uilleann piper from the Peak District. He sings a mixture of English and Irish repertoire, interspersing them with tunes on the whistles and pipes. In 2022 Seb won the Future of Folk Award at Bromyard Folk Festival. In his first festival season in 2023 he played at eight folk festivals, he was billed alongside Martin Carthy at Cork Singers Club, and sang on stage with the Wilson Family at Hartlepool Folk Festival. 2024 saw Seb release his debut album Young Tamlyn’s Away, and form the vocal harmony trio Culverake with Matt Quinn and Lizzy Hardingham, who released their own debut album Unto The Sky in October 2025. Seb is very active in the Sheffield folk scene, regularly attending and running sessions for both tunes and songs, especially at Christmas when he is heavily involved in carol singing, both in Sheffield and his native Derbyshire.
