NOMAD is an award-winning flexible ensemble who create multidisciplinary performances blending music with a vibrant array of art forms.
Collaborating with diverse musicians and commissioning new music is integral to their practice. Noteworthy past projects include original theatre work The Gardener’s Daughter with Lili Holland Fricke; immersive concert In Time featuring audio recordings of loved-ones and live electronic manipulation from Devon Bonelli; and Witching Hour with Samuel Kane merging folk-inspired music, projections, and spoken word.
Latest project: Witching Hour
Step into a world where folklore, magic, and music intertwine – Witching Hour is a spellbinding live performance that merges classical, contemporary, and folk music with storytelling.
In the mystical forests of Leanachan, Scotland, a woman accused of witchcraX escapes into the wild, encountering faeries, will-o’-the-wisps, and ancient magic. Featuring new music by Samuel Kane and spoken word by Iona Kaye – alongside music by Caroline Shaw, Radiohead, Donald Grant and more – tales from British folklore are brought to life by string quartet, lever harp, and singer/ narrator.
The show invites audiences to confront the mysteries that linger in the dark. Beautifully performed at The King’s Arms, Salford, Witching Hour has already captivated audiences and NOMAD has received glowing feedback for its immersive, thought-provoking approach to their performances. ”
