About this Event
Discover meditative expression through controlled brush strokes.Joon Bae began learning “sumukhwa,” traditional Korean ink painting, from her grandfather and father, a renowned calligrapher, at an early age. Her work is collected internationally and has been featured in museums, libraries, and cultural institutions throughout Utah.Take home your own paper lantern! In this workshop, Joon will guide participants through foundational ink wash techniques to paint plum blossoms — a symbol of resilience and beauty. Participants will learn basic brush strokes and gain an understanding of water control, all while cultivating a calm and mindful approach through Joon's philosophy of “storytelling by putting brush to rice paper.”
