Join the Friends of Lake Claremont on Tuesday evening, 19th November for the next Night Chats. Dr Grey Coupland, a restoration ecologist from Murdoch University, will speak on her success in establishing Miyawaki forests in Perth.
Miyawaki Forests are becoming increasingly popular for urban greening and enhancing biodiversity. The small size of Miyawaki forests enables them to be planted in any vacant pocket of land. Wildlife havens can be created quickly by transforming car parks, disused tennis courts or suburban back gardens into Miyawaki forests – also helping to mitigate the effects of climate change.
