We're delighted to be screening 3 films as part of this year's FOKUS: Film From Germany season, showcasing highlights of German cinema in venues across Scotland. The festival is realised by Goethe-Institut Glasgow in cooperation with and supported by Film Hub Scotland. Tickets are £2.50 full / £1.25 access. The films are documentary ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR, family drama WEEKEND REBELS and mystery thriller THE UNIVERSAL THEORY.
ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR is a gripping real-time documentary which captures the harrowing rescue of 104 people from a sinking rubber dinghy in the Mediterranean, offering a raw and visceral portrayal of the global migration crisis. Thursday 6 February.
WEEKEND REBELS - Mirco's family is advised to go to a special school for Jason, his autistic son. He makes a pact to make every effort to stay in school if Mirco helps him find a favorite football club. As they travel across Germany, breaking free from their usual routines, this heartfelt father-son story emphasises the importance of embracing neurodiverse perspectives. Saturday 15 February.
THE UNIVERSAL THEORY unfolds as a suspenseful journey of intellectual intrigue. Johannes, a physicist, travels to a remote Swiss alpine hotel for a conference where an enigmatic scientist is set to reveal a ground-breaking theory. Monday 17 February.
