Focus on Africa will take place Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 12 pm-1 pm in Memorial Union room N-52 in the International Center. Focus on Africa is hosted by MU Africa Hub once a month during the semester. The mission of the Africa Hub is to promote the study and understanding of Africa. The purpose of this program is to encourage MU Africanist scholars to meet each other, stimulate each other’s thinking, and potentially lead to the creation of broader research networks and/or joint scholarship. The program is free and open to the public. Join us, come relax and learn! Our esteemed guest will be Dr. Mark Morgan. He is a retired Associate Professor from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri. He taught classes and conducted research on outdoor recreation management. Mark is a former Fulbright Scholar who has extensive experience across Asia and Africa. Among his most noteworthy accomplishments are studies on fish and fishing, including the use of Asian carp as a hunger relief strategy. He will share his recent work in Kenya and Nigeria with us.
