FAQs

Who is conducting the research?

Suzanne Derry is a community lawyer who is working with the law firm King & Wood Mallesons. Suzanne will be conducting the session and speaking with you to understand your feedback at the session.

Do I need to know about the law to participate?

No, you don't need to know about the law. The young people we talk to as part of this program are at school and don't know lots about the law to begin with either!

What will my responses be used for?

We want to know what young people need to know about the law. The law can be complicated and seem like it’s just for adults, but young people also live with the law every day. Some legal stuff that affects young people are police powers, social media and even your rights at your job. We run a legal education program called TalkLaw and we want to hear from you about how to make it better.

What sorts of things are we going to be asked about?

We will ask questions like “when you hear the word law, what do you think about?” And “if you had a legal problem where would you go for help?”

Who can participate?
Young people aged 15-17 years old living, working or studying in the Canterbury-Bankstown area. We would like to hear from young people from all walks of life and experiences.

Will I be recorded?
We may be recording voice audio so that we have captured your feedback correctly. This recording will not be released anywhere.
