As part of our Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping (FCM) initiative, Abilities First is hosting targeted focus groups to explore unmet needs in Greene County. These conversations bring together individuals, families, providers, and stakeholders to share their perspectives and lived experiences — helping us identify service gaps and strengthen supports. This focus group will include:
Staff from a day program
A person who attends a day program
A person with a disability who volunteers but is not employed
A guardian of a person with a disability (non-employed or day-program attending)
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Transition Coordinator
Job Coach
Staff from the Missouri Job Center
An employer with experience hiring individuals with disabilities
Representatives from CHOICES/SWI
DCO staff
🌟 We are also looking to highlight real-life stories, including:
Someone moving from residential services to living on their own with wraparound supports
Someone who has been able to remain at home with the help of remote monitoring or technology
If you know someone who may be interested in participating — or if you’d like to be part of this group — please contact:

Together, we can reimagine pathways to independence, employment, and community life.
