A conversation with Damian Callanan - A WALK THROUGH AN UNTIDY GARDENLocal artist and designer, Damian Callanan, presents a selection of his recent and past paintings, drawings and sketchbooks. Damian is a figurative painter who strives to capture the atmosphere of natural and artificial light. Damian's past experience working in Interior Architecture is an influence in the choice of many of his still life subjects, interior vignettes and plein air paintings of the built environment. In his still life paintings, chairs take on a curious life of their own. His interiors views exhibit a temporary stillness. While his plein air works convey the effects of light at different times of day. All his work illuminates the quiet beauty unseen by others.
