Did you know that in Italy there are many different types of focaccia ?
Fom North to South, each region offers its own version, linked to local traditions and using typical ingredients. Have I stimulated your curiosity ?
Well, so you should join me on Friday 29th November at The Coomons Cafe in Colchester from 5 PM to 9 PM for this unique Focaccia making workshop.
It will be an event that will be divided into two parts: the first part will be a demonstration in which while you will relax drinking a hot drink I will show you how to make from scratch 2 types of authentic focaccia loaves from 2 regions of Italy :
Chici ripieno (Stuffed Focaccia with tuna, artichokes, green olives, capers, and red peppers, a recipes from Marche region )
Parigina Focaccia (From Campania region) : Tomato and mozzarella between a base prepared with the classic dough for focaccia and a covering of crumbly and golden puff pastry.
Finally during the second part you will wear an apron and knead from scratch 2 other types of focaccia from other regions of Italy :
The famous world gastronomic Focaccia Genovese (from Liguria region)
Focaccia di Bari (from Puglia Region) : thin and crunchy, topped with cherry tomatoes, olives, oregano and plenty of oil.you will take home at the end of the course all the products made during the course. Hot drinks refreshments, focaccia tastings and recips will be included.
Suitable for all abilities: for people with or without baking experience.
