Come join Friends of Bob Blackburn Flora Reserve on Sunday, 2nd March, for our first Clean Up Australia Day event and make a positive difference in your community.If you'd like to participate, please register via the link below or message us directly and put it in your calendar. Numbers may be limited. We will have a designated meeting point at the reserve (to be advised) to supply you with equipment and instructions. Please make sure you are sun smart, wear covered shoes, and bring a water bottle. Children are welcome, but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
There will be designated areas for volunteers to focus on and then we'll conduct a litter audit at the end of the collection to examine what types of litter are most common in the reserve. This data will assist our ongoing litter reduction efforts in the area. Afterwards, we will have refreshments in the shade and a chance to connect with other volunteers.
Surrounded by residential, recreational, industrial, commercial, and community areas, Bob Blackburn Flora Reserve faces a wide variety of human-driven pressures. But we are excited to be undertaking restoration and conservation activities such as participating in Clean Up Australia Day 2025, to help it be all that it can be, for both the animals that call it home and the surrounding community.
