Join us for our Monthly Poetry series, an afternoon of poetic readings. Featured poets will each read for 20 minutes, followed by a short break to sign books, then an open mic. Please sign up by 2:30 pm, and limit your reading to one poem, one page. Hope to see you there!Maria Rouphail, PhD, is Senior Lecturer Emerita from NC State University, where she taught courses in World Literature and served as an academic adviser to the English major. She continues to teach in the OLLI program at NCSU. She is the Poetry Editor at Main Street Rag. Her own published collections include Apertures, Second Skin, All the Way to China (a finalist in the 2020 University of Wisconsin Brittingham Poetry and Blue Light poetry prizes), and This small house, this big sky. She is currently at work on her fifth collection, This is How I will Save My Life. She is the 2024-25 NCPS Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet for Central North Carolina. A seven-time Pushcart nominee, Rouphail lives in Raleigh.
Ryan Clark is a documentary poet who writes his poems using a unique method of homophonic translation. A former military brat, he now lives in North Carolina, where he teaches at UNC School of the Arts. His poetry has appeared in such journals as DIAGRAM, The Offing, Cherry Tree, Spoon River Poetry Review, and Copper Nickel, and his work has been nominated for both Best of the Net and the Pushcart Anthology.
