Jo Hoffberg has been running partner dance intensives since 2015. During the pandemic, she had ample time to invest in her solo dancing and is now thrilled to recreate the Lindy Tech environment with a focus on the individual dancer!Previously, Lindy Techs focused on partner dynamics and what skills were necessary to better speak and listen to a partner. Going even deeper, Jo is excited to dig into what makes a great dancer at Flying Solo: rhythm, body awareness, dynamics, improvisation, and intuition.

This small group, TRAINING WEEKEND INTENSIVE will focus on getting comfortable with improvisation, flawless transitions, and how to dance with all of your body.
This weekend is ideal for the student:
- looking to improve the quality of their movement
- interested in a highly-focused training weekend
- ready to be challenged, in a highly-structured + freeform learning environment (yup, a balance of both)
- who is ready to push themselves to get the most out of the weekend (dedicated learners ftw!!!)
- Level: OPEN LEVEL (most often it's intermediate and up)

What this weekend is NOT:
- this is not a Solo Jazz weekend that will focus on teaching new vocabulary or routines
- we will use jazz steps as reference points, but we are working on general movement, body awareness and control, rhythm, how to use your arms, etc. We might even stick ppl together and have them dance in pairs! In short, it's more than "just" a solo jazz weekend.
- choreography-based: perhaps we'll use a classic jazz routine as a foundation, but the weekend is about exploration, not memorize and perform (don't get her wrong, Jo LOVES those things, but this weekend isn't about it.
