About this Event

Join us for an evening showcasing three exciting authors published by Fly on the Wall Press: Tina Tamsho-Thomas, Louise Finnigan and David Hartley.

Tina Tamsho-Thomas is a published writer, poet, spoken word artist, writer-in residence, playwright, Black Writing Development pioneer and Human Rights Advocate. Her work can be found in several anthologies including Red: Contemporary Black British Poetry, Sexual Attraction Revealed and Brown Eyes. She'll be reading from her latest poetry collection Someone Is Missing Me.

Louise Finnigan lives and writes in Manchester. Her work has been longlisted for The Martin Crawford Award and shortlisted for The Cambridge Short Story Prize. Louise is interested in writing from the perspectives of working class teenagers who are negotiating their identity in a world which requires them to change themselves if they are to ‘escape’. Louise will be reading from her new short story Muscle and Mouth.

Dr. David Hartley is an optimist, a passionate animal rights writer and vegan and does not shy away from exploring difficult questions about how we treat our fellow creatures. He has a Creative Writing PhD at the University of Manchester, in which he researched the connections between autism and science fiction while writing a novel about autism and ghosts. David will be reading from his latest short story collection Fauna.

Fly on the Wall is a not for profit publisher, based in Manchester, publishing innovative short stories, poetry and photography books on pressing issues, from exceptional authors around the globe, all with a socially conscious theme. They are proud to publish short stories and poetry on the pressing issues of our time, being unafraid to generate conversation about perhaps 'prickly' subjects, whilst also dedicating a large proportion of their yearly publishing schedule to charitable projects.

Books by all three authors will be available to purchase on the night. Tickets are free but do please register your interest in advance. Refreshments provided.
