About this Event
The UK Cinema premiere of the feature documentary Fly from Everest!
In 2022, Australian mountaineer Ken Hutt (63), set off to do something that's never been done before - to climb and then fly a solo paraglider from Mt Everest, all in the name of raising funds and awareness for Rotary's campaign.
Brisbane-based film academic Dr Joe Carter (who spent 13 years teaching at the University of Sunderland) filmed and directed the documentary in some of Australia's best paragliding locations and for 3 months on location in Nepal.
Fly from Everest is an epic story of adventure, sacrifice and daring - with an incredible ending no-one saw coming.
A Special Invitation Premiere with Q&A session after the screening
After the screening of the film, the film's director Joe Carter will answer questions from the audience, facillitated by University of Sunderland Senior Lecturer in Film and TV Susan Perryman.
