2.2 features "the utterly divine experimental harpist Rhodri Davies and the dark dream drones of Elaine Cheng in the fair locale of Home Bar, Edinburgh on Wednesday 17th June.
Rhodri Davies barely needs any introduction, but if you don’t know, he’s one of the most prolific and wide ranging explorers of the harp around, who’s done all kinds of amazing projects involving horse hair harps, aeolian harps, bray harps, lap harps, concert harps, electric harps, flirting with pop in his amazing band @henogleddband and gracing concert halls across the world playing contemporary classical new music using extended technique to expand all the possibilities of modern harp repertoire. He always plays with a freshness of invention and a passion for creative expression whilst also drawing on the vast historic tradition of harp playing across millennia. Basically, you’re an idiot if you’re in Edinburgh and not at this gig. ‘Nuff said. I cannot wait!"
Joining him is local artist Elaine Cheng. Elaine is an extraordinary Edinburgh composer with Hong Kong connections. They completed a project with Art27 Scotland called 'Sound of Southside' where they worked with Hong Kong/Chinese communities in Edinburgh to create freely improvised music and record soundwalks. It was showcased as part of the Festival of Migration and is available on their Soundcloud page.
Needless to say we are very excited to be working with Bell Lungs on what should be an amazing evening.
