Floy Doy is a trio of Raleigh-based musicians who mix a repertoire of original compositions and wide ranging covers with an often free-form, interactive improvisational approach. A new recording, “After Time”, is slated for release late summer 2025.
Bakru Hunsel is a Drummer, percussionist with Surinamese/Dutch roots who has been playing with, and learning from many North Carolina Artists since moving to Raleigh, NC in 1999
Bassist, Rick Lassiter has been an integral part of the local music scene for years. In addition to his work with Floy Doy, he works with local songwriters and vocalists on both live and recorded projects.
Originally from Nebraska, cornetist Bryan McCune has been playing music in the Triangle since the mid ‘80s. His sound is often complimented by an ever evolving array of effects; his compositions and recordings draw from a wide stylistic palette. In addition to his main group FLOY DOY, McCune performs with a variety of local groups, and occasionally can be found at sessions in NYC. Recent album releases include Project Omaha’s “It’s been a Long Time” featuring jazz legends Victor Lewis and George Cables, and “Convergent Divergence” featuring guitarist Mike Baggetta.
