Join us this month for an exciting hands-on activity presented by the Oak Spring Garden Foundation in partnership with the Fauquier County Public Library- Warrenton! Kids (ages 6-11) and teens (ages 12-18) will decode the secret language of flowers, crack open fresh cacao fruit, and explore how chocolate is made straight from the plant.
We'll learn how cacao becomes cocoa nibs—and how those nibs turn into both milk and dark chocolate (with some sampling of course). Using dried flowers from Oak Spring Garden, kids and teens will also create their own dried tussie-mussie to take home. And that’s not all—each participant will transplant a “healing power plant” of their own to nurture long after the day is done. This fun and free program blends science, art, and nature—perfect for learning new skills, getting creative, and finding warmth and inspiration during February’s cold days.
Each month, OSGF partners with local libraries to offer a new, free, nature-inspired activity designed to spark curiosity and connection with the natural world. Don’t miss February’s event—and follow along to discover each month’s new theme!
Walk-ins are welcome. Visit your library’s website at the link provided for more details.
