đŸŒ±About the Gathering

What does it mean to truly flourish—not just to feel good, but to do good, to live with presence, and to honor the sacredness of being alive? This session explores flourishing through three intertwined lenses: doing good, being present, and living with conscious care.

Together, we’ll reflect on insights from Barbara Fredrickson, Thich Nhat Hanh, James Clear, Jane Goodall, Sam Harris, the Buddha, and others. These voices will serve as catalysts for a rich, grounded conversation about what it means to thrive in a complex world.

Expect a space that is thoughtful, welcoming, and deeply human.

✹Themes We’ll Explore

1. Flourishing by Doing Good

We’ll explore the idea that flourishing is not merely personal happiness but a life that radiates outward.

  • “Flourishing goes beyond happiness
Beyond feeling good, they're also doing good—adding value to the world.” —Barbara Fredrickson
  • “Flourishing is not a solo endeavor.” —Barbara Fredrickson
  • “Why would one want to be anything but kind
?” —Sam Harris
  • “What you do makes a difference
” —Jane Goodall
  • “Love and work are to people what water and sunshine are to plants.” —Jonathan Haidt

This section invites participants to reflect on how kindness, contribution, and connection shape a thriving life.

2. Flourishing by Being in the Present Moment

We’ll explore presence as a gateway to aliveness.

  • Thich Nhat Hanh’s teaching on washing the dishes
  • “Do not dwell in the past
concentrate the mind on the present moment.” —The Buddha
  • “The miracle of mindfulness is the recognition that we have the capacity to be aware of our awareness.” —Shinzen Young
  • “Success is the product of daily habits
” —James Clear

This section invites participants to notice how attention, habit, and awareness shape the texture of daily life.

3. The Sacredness of Consciousness

We’ll explore the idea that everything we touch becomes sacred when met with full presence.

  • Thich Nhat Hanh’s teaching on treating each action with reverence
  • “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.” —James Clear
  • “If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion
” —Bishop T.D. Jakes
  • “When you fall in love with the process
” —James Clear

This section invites participants to consider how identity, purpose, and care emerge through small, intentional acts.

🧘What We’ll Do Together

  • A grounding guided meditation practice to arrive fully - focused on the theme of the day
  • Guided reflection using the quotes as prompts
  • Small‑group dialogue exploring how these ideas show up in real life
  • Closing circle to integrate insights
