About Saving The Florida Wildlife Corridor -

Saving the Florida Wildlife Corridor is a short documentary produced by National Geographic and Wildpath. A visual road trip from the north to the south of Florida, this film follows the day-to-day work of Floridians whose livelihoods depend on a healthy, connected ecosystem. This is a view of Florida seldom brought to the screen: one in which the survival of people and nature is no longer a mutually exclusive idea.

Through the voices of farmers, fishermen, ranchers and conservationists, Saving the Florida Wildlife Corridor offers a glimpse into one of America’s most unique and complex conservation opportunities, and highlights the need to collaborate to ensure its survival.

About Patchwork Wild: Stiching the Last Strands -

Patchwork Wild: Stitching the Last Strands follows 3 trekkers and their guide on a multi-day journey through threaded strands of cypress and shallow sloughs. Over seven days, they hike, bike, and paddle from the ancient cypress swamps of Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, through Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and the Okaloacoochee Slough, to the banks of the Caloosahatchee River.

The expedition moves across a living patchwork of natural habitats and working lands. Along the way, the team encounters working cattle ranches and agricultural lands that are just as essential as the swamps in keeping the Corridor connected. In those same lands, where the seams between wild and working lands meet, they encounter a rare glimpse of one of Florida’s most elusive animals, a reminder that even the wildest creatures rely on these working lands to survive.

Patchwork Wild brings to light the high-priority lands along this southwestern edge of the Corridor, where the fabric of wild Florida will either remain whole, or begin to unravel.
