
About this Event
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann and explore Scrub Oak Preserve, a Florida scrub habitat, and learn about the flora and fauna that reside there. Along the way, we’ll search for the resident Florida scrub jays, the only bird endemic to Florida.
** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate hike due to the soft sugar sand on the trails.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors
WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen
FACILITIES: There is a port-a-let on site but no running water.
