About this Event
Don't miss this opportunity to learn from successful Master Gardeners and Environmental Biologists who love to share their garden hacks with you!
Lee County Master Gardener Volunteers share best management practices guided by the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL), which is one of the state of Florida’s premier Extension program. It promotes sustainable alternatives to “conventional” landscaping, providing guidance on low-impact, environmentally friendly, science-based landscape practices that use less water and reduce pollutant loading to Florida waters. Since 1993, FFL has served Florida as a partnership between the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension (UF/IFAS Extension) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). (From FFL Overview on FFL website.)
Optional Walk Afterwards:
Join the Master Gardeners for an optional walk on the grounds after the session. Explore the plants that are flourishing in this particular area to learn even more about plant selection in Southwest Florida.
