Students will learn to paint flowers with color and depth using pastels; materials, applications and color theory will be discussed; students will have a finished painting to bring home at the end of class. Reference photos (various cone flowers) will be provided, but students are welcome to use their own photos, providing they emphasize a single, simple bloom or two. About the Teacher:
For 33 years, Neal Allen taught music in public schools. Now retired, Neal has explored the world of pastels, studying with several nationally and internationally acclaimed instructors including; Tony Allain, Micheal Chesley Johnson and Alain Picard as well as taking drawing and painting classes at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute. Neal is on the board for the Ontario County Arts Council and is a member of Pastel Society of Western New York and the Pastel Society of America.
