ABOUT CONCERT:
We’re thrilled to announce that Floex, the innovative composer, producer and multimedia artist from the Czech Republic, is bringing his music to Chicago and New York City this November!
Floex (Tomáš Dvořák) will be performing with his Floex Ensemble, partly featuring local musicians. The modern classical sextet breathes life into Dvořák’s compositions, many arranged by multi-instrumentalist Jan Šikl. The performance features material from Floex's game soundtracks like Machinarium, Samorost, or Papetura, alongside rearrangements of his studio work or dance theatre pieces.
? Special Event: Workshop Creating Sound Universes with Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex
Dive into the world of music production and learn the art of composing captivating soundtracks directly from Floex. This workshop is perfect for aspiring composers and fans alike.
This tour is happening thanks to the general support of Soundczech, the Year of Czech Music and Czech Centre New York.
ABOUT FLOEX:
Prague born Tomáš Dvořák aka Floex is one of the long-term stalwarts of the electronic music scene. His unmistakable handwriting, bringing together electronic and acoustic music into a unique atmospheric form, has resonated for more than 25 years. In addition to numerous original albums, he has composed music for several successful soundtracks for video games, films and dance performances (Samorost, Machinarium, Papetura, Je Suis Karl). On his latest album, A Portrait of John Dee, released on the UK Decca Classics Mercury KX sub-label, he collaborated with British producer Tom Hodge, with whom he moved towards a fusion of electronic and classical music. He is also the author of a number of interactive multimedia installations such as RGB, Crossroads, Archifon (collaboration with Initi). He has won numerous awards for his music, including four Anděl awards (Czech Grammy).
