The Speaker: Dr Shahzadi Harper, MBBS MRCGP

A qualified doctor who graduated from University College of London, UCL.  She is the founder of The Harper Clinic on Harley Street in the heart of London. The clinic is Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered and is one of the leading menopause and women’s wellbeing clinics. The clinic prides itself in pioneering a modern day approach towards menopause by combining a holistic and medical perspective to menopause care.

The clinic specialises in looking after women of all ages, focusing on perimenopause, menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and women's wellbeing. This includes addressing psychological wellbeing, anxiety management, skin and hair changes, beauty and lifestyle, ageing, heart and brain health, vaginal health and nutrition and weight.

Dr Harper is not afraid to discuss issues which other doctors may shy away from. These include libido, vaginal dryness, ageing and sex.

She is on a mission to empower women of all backgrounds and ethnicities to look and feel their best. She understands how our hormones affect not only our physical health but also our mental and psychological wellbeing. She combines her skills and experience as a GP to provide holistic and medical care helping women regain their equilibrium and joy.

Dr Harper herself is often in the media raising awareness on women’s health issues and perimenopause/menopause: Cosmopolitan Magazine, This Morning TV, Good Housekeeping, Daily Mail, Red Magazine to name but a few, as well as podcasts with award winning skincare and wellbeing expert Liz Earle, Style Magazine Editor Lorraine Candy.

She has also given educational talks to businesses such as Natwest Group, Coutts Bank, PwC, Axa Health, Grosvenor Group, Mizuho Bank, Channel 4, ITV, L’Oreal, educating fellow doctors and speaking at universities.

Dr Harper is a forward thinking menopause and perimenopause wellbeing doctor who is passionate about being an advocate for positive change by optimising the way menopause is managed, perceived and so often overlooked. She believes in the early management of symptoms of the perimenopause and menopause.

“One of the things I want to do is to show women in midlife that it's not the end of life, you can have new beginnings, like I did by setting up my own menopause clinic. I did all that in my perimenopause.  I also wanted to bring back that 'sparkle' which so many women had felt they had lost in this phase of their life”.

She is an excellent doctor and expert in the field of menopause who offers a service which is far more tailored and attentive to the wellbeing of each woman with a risk management approach and a long term personalised care plan unique to each of her clients.

These women need a consultative service with guidance and proper support throughout their hormonal journey, which in the future would reduce illnesses, improve health, and allow women to continue to thrive in the workplace.

We offer remote and in clinic consultations and are proud to have an international client reach so location is never an issue!

Dr Harper consults all her appointments herself.
