This all ages adventure begins with the interactive “Flipping the Dollar” activity, a dynamic experience that places you in the shoes of working-class Black entrepreneurs of the 1930s in the Beach Institute neighborhood. Through this fun, eye-opening challenge, you’ll see how business owners stretched every dollar, supported one another, and built a thriving community.

You’ll explore the powerful stories of resilience and triumph—from the struggles of slavery to the victories of freedom and learn about the legacy of W. W. Law, the civil rights leader who preserved this historic home.
