About this Event

There are so many places in San Francisco to get great photographs of the Golden Gate Bridge, but Fort Point probably has more variations than any other venue.

Join Jefferson Graham, the host of the travel photography series PhotowalksTV, on a live photowalk in one of the most photogenic sections of the city.

Fort Point is a Civil War-era fortress under the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. As noted by San Francisco tourism, "Brick-clad stairs, walkways, brick-framed windows and even the outdoor parking sites provide stunning views of the bridge, the bay, Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline. Instagram opportunities abound."

Jeff produces PhotowalksTV on a smartphone, using the same camera favored by the general public, and likes to show how to get pro quality from the device. He's also the co-host of the iPhone Photo Show podcast.

Meet: in front of the National Park Service gift shop.

Parking: it can get congested later in the day, which is why we're meeting early.

By car from San Francisco and points south, take Highway 101 north and exit right at the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza before getting on bridge. Turn right at end of exit ramp and then left onto Lincoln Boulevard. Take the first left onto Long Avenue and follow onto Marine Drive. Fort Point is located at the end of Marine Drive. By public transit, San Francisco Muni 28 and PresidiGo buses stop at bridge toll plaza. Follow trail signs northeast of plaza area to Fort Point at base of bluffs.
