Join us in developing the next generation of pinball tournaments!Welcome to the FLIP CITY FUTURE LEAGUE, a monthly tournament series featuring a rotating set of new, experimental, never-before-seen pinball formats!
Our goal is to combine classic, rounds-based events (swiss, match play, etc) with new and exciting match point scoring structures and strategic elements. Most of the formats will feature a normal set of competitive, non-elimination swiss rounds, consisting of two to four players. The games themselves will have normal tournament rules (3 balls, one flip EBs, etc). However, the way rounds are seeded, matches are scored, and bonus points are allocated will vary from event to event.
If a format is a hit, we'll run it back. If it's lacking in some degree, we'll adjust the rules and try it again later in the year. We aim to build a is a dynamic, community driven set of new pinball formats we can share with the world.
Our next event will be held on Feb 26 at Wedgehead at 7:0PM. The full tournament format rules will be revealed shortly before the tournament begins. The basic event structure will be as follows:
• FREE ENTRY ($12 pinball day pass required by venue)
• 7 rounds, 3 player groups
• TO-BE-REVEALED seeding and point allocation details
Tournament entry is free and there will be no cash prizes or IFPA points awarded. We will have three small prizes available to participants:
• Sole player with the most points at the end of the event will receive a $12 Wedgehead gift card. (An additional tie breaker game may be required)
• Two more $12 giftcards will be raffled off among all other players that play in all 7 rounds. No player may receive more than one prize.
• The raffle will be weighted, the more points a player earns, the better their chances.
