Dive into pre history, sit around the fire in the woods with an expert, and create your own flint tools using techniques of our ancestors!
About this Event

Travel back in time with us and experience the ancient skill of flint knapping for yourself!

Developing skills to work flint into carefully crafted tools allowed our hunter gatherer ancestors to thrive in this landscape - now it's your chance to try these techniques during this practical whole day workshop and create a flint tool to take home with you.

We are lucky enough to have the highly knowledgeable and experienced archaeologist and flint knapper Tristan Bareham to lead the day. Most of your time will be spent in the woods around the fire learning hands-on skills. Tristan will also share his fascinating knowledge around flint, and you will get to handle several original items once shaped by an ancestor many 1000s of years ago.

*BOOKING ESSENTIAL* Places are VERY limited to enable participants to receive individualised instruction in the practical work.

BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!

Refreshments provided but please bring a packed lunch.
