A rare live performance celebrating the release of musician Fletcher Tucker's album Kin and LFZ!
About this Event

Join Fletcher Tucker (of Big Sur, California) for a rare live performance celebrating the release of Kin – a psycho-spiritually potent album of acoustic drones, animistic chanting, and place-based ritual. Composed while trekking through the remote Big Sur backcountry, Kin is a sonic offering to the living world: an incantation of kinship, mystic communion, and mythopoetic storytelling. Tucker’s immersive set will bring to life the record’s elemental palette of “ancestral instruments” – pump organ, Swedish bagpipes, flutes, and bowed zithers – alongside chanted verse and percussive portals to the liminal.

Opening the evening is LFZ, the exploratory sound project of Los Angeles-based artist Sean Smith. Blending analog synthesizers, electric guitars, and hardware effects, LFZ crafts vast, cinematic soundscapes rooted in synesthesia and the esoteric. His work channels the deep unknown through soaring electronic ritualism, offering a richly textured journey into the hidden layers of perception.

Together, these two visionary artists invite you into a night of vibrational ceremony and sonic enchantment – a doorway into the wild, the sacred, and the unseen.

Fletcher Tucker Bio:

Fletcher Tucker (born 1983) is an interdisciplinary artist and practitioner of animistic, earth-reverent skills and philosophies, residing on the unceded Esselen tribal lands now known as Big Sur, California. Since 2005, Tucker has released nine full-length albums of music, under various project names, on labels based in Germany, Sweden, Japan, and the United States. Tuckers’ most recent records, released under his given name, explore relationality –– aural and poetic expressions of his ever deepening relationships to place, ancestors, ceremonial practice, and kinfolk (human and more-than-human).

Tucker is the founder of the analog record label Gnome Life Records –– releasing experimental and ambient music, outsider folk, and spoken word by West Coast artists since 2005 (including works by Robbie Basho, Daniel Higgs, Little Wings and many more). In addition to his artistic work, Tucker is the co-founder of Wildtender, an organization dedicated to helping people cultivate intimacy with the earth, and reciprocal relationships with the natural world. Tucker is also teaching faculty at the Esalen Institute and the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.

Sean Smith (LFZ) Bio:

For the last decade LFZ has released myriad recordings with Castle Face and Stimulus Progression and is the catch-all for the explorative creativity of Sean Smith, who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Smith has a background in guitar based instrumental music beginning with a long stretch devoted to solo acoustic American Primitive. LFZ is now a fully integrated apparatus of expression utilizing electric guitars, bass, analog synthesizers, and hardware effects. LFZ is in the lineage of electronic music practitioners like Laurie Spiegel, JD Emmanuel, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, etc. The music of LFZ is derived and created in relation to visual mental imagery and synesthesia and is always concerned with an often elaborate level of story building.

Raveled Veiled Known, an album of monumental synthesizer focused extravagancies, finds LFZ at an apex of fluidity and prowess. The album deals with concepts of growth, change, the depth of the unknown, and how we organize our understanding and interpretation of these. The cover, hand embroidered artwork by Smith, depicts mixed esoteric imagery derived from Astrology, Tarot, Numerology, Sigil Magick, and the pioneer plaque. The album is released by Big Sur’s Gnome Life Records and is LFZ’s fourth full length album.
