About this Event
Flava Of The Month will be monthly at Pop Brixton providing a much-needed base for the Boom Bap Hip Hop scene. The event will take place on a Sunday each month (based on venue availability) and will once again assemble established and future generations of young hopefuls.
Music will be provided by establish Hip Hop DJs using turntables and vinyl and displaying all of the skillz associated with a Hip Hop DJ. The infamous “Open Mic” segment of the night will also be included to ensure that anybody with the courage to get up, will get a chance to rock the mic.
DJ 279 – “F.O.T.M. was started for the sole purpose of creating a place where the London Hip Hop scene could assemble regularly for the brand of Hip Hop that I represent. I feel the time is right to bring it to a younger audience as well as continue what I began all those years ago, and I’m particularly interested in seeking out new talent which exists outside of London“.
Sterling Reigns is a multi genre DJ that Specialising art of the Boom bap HipHop. Sterling was as part of UK Hip hop group Hard II K*ll, which was one of the first UK Hip Hop pioneers in the 90s. They toured with Naughty by nature, Shabba Ranks and Mary J Blige. They did a MTV special with Fab Five Freddy on UK Hip-hop.
