On August 25, 1951 a strange set of lights were spotted by hundreds of witnesses over the north end of Lubbock Texas. 70 years later, we are still questioning what those lights were. Air Force Officer Edward J Ruppelt’s report helps to unravel the mystery.In this psychologically engaging work by first-time director Hannah Dunn, Flatlands Dance Theatre sends its audiences into the mind of the man who coined the term “UFO.” Featuring the skills of local actors and dance artists, this provocative production physicalizes the psychological struggle to discern between truth and sensationalism. Lubbock Lights will be presented on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th at 7:30 pm in the Firehouse Theatre at LHUCA (511 Avenue K). Ticket prices include a Select-a-Seat surcharge, and are $25 general admission and $15 for seniors, children, and students with ID.
