Artistic Director
Maria 'LA Chacha' Bermudez is one of the most renowned flamenco artists of our time. She has exposed audiences across the world to the unique style and sound of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain — the birthplace of Flamenco. Her outstanding performances have graced venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Lope de Vega in Sevilla, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In 2022, she was names Ambassador of Flamenco by the city of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
Locally she inspires the next generation of dancers at Maria Bermudez Flamenco Performing Arts and serves artistic director of non-profit organization Flamenco! Santa Barbara. Learn more at mbflamenco.com.

Flamenco! Santa Barbara is a nonprofit organization is committed to access to authentic experiences, dynamic performances, and music and dance education opportunities that inspire our community.
We offer need-based scholarships to students, masterclasses by artists from Spain and beyond, and host an artist-in-residence program. Every summer we sponsor a two week program of Old Spanish Days Fiesta performances pairing local students with world-class musicians.
