A famous Fandangos speaks about the ‘sad woman bathing herself in the river.’ Nick Cave sings about ‘weeping women, who are weeping for their men.’ Picasso has a series of ‘Weeping Woman’ paintings, in reference to the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Flamenco del Lago will explore the theme of weeping women in their upcoming production: ‘Why are the women weeping?’ Through traditional flamenco music and modern folk music they’ll explore why women might be weeping in our country and around the world – from political upheaval, to war and economic uncertainty – join us for this unique evening of Flamenco.
Run time: 90 minutes, includes 15 minute intermission.
Age policy: Recommended ages 8 and up. All patrons require a ticket (no infants being held).
