Newcastle Flamenco Dance is opening up a new location on the Central Coast in Gosford CBD in February 2025. Newcastle Flamenco Dance Studio is the brainchild of Deya Miranda Giner, a professional flamenco dancer, and it is the first and the only flamenco dance school and fitness studio for children and adults in Newcastle and now on the Central Coast.
After many years of training and working professionally as a flamenco dancer in Spain, Deya is back in Australia to showcase this incredible dance style and promote Spanish culture in the Hunter Region and on the Central Coast, through classes and performances of traditional and modern flamenco dance.
Adult flamenco classes last 1 hour. The sessions are divided into three parts. The first 20 minutes cover the body technique (alignment and correct posture, movement of arms, hands), and rhythm with footwork. The next 20 minutes is working on a dance choreography accompanied by flamenco singing, to fully understand the relationship between the dancing and the singing. The classes normally finish with a brief footwork drill.
Term 1 Starts on Monday 10 February at 6:30pm and will run for 9 weeks on a weekly basis and then continue for term 2 until term 4.
Enrolments are opening on the 2nd January until spots are available. We strongly recommend booking in advanced to avoid disappointment because spots are limited.
There’s a $25 trial class available if you are not completely sure about joining the classes but they don’t guarantee a secure spot if class enrolments book out first.
