About the Hike
Join us for a scenic hike on Fatman's Loop Trail, a 2.5-mile loop that offers beautiful views of the area. The trail is known for its ancient alligator junipers, some over 900 years old, and boulders formed from a 500,000-year-old lava flow. It's a perfect spot if you want to bring the family, with plenty of opportunities for kids to scramble and explore.
The trail starts under the shade of tall pines but becomes more exposed as you climb.

We're all about building community, inspiring another and creating connections with other nature loving outdoor enthusiasts. Regardless of age, fitness or experience, everyone is welcome. Yep, that means kids are more than welcome too for our family friendly hikes!
Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a total newbie, there will be various hikes for different skill levels and lengths. Each month we will have different hikes from more leisurely strolls, to moderate hikes, and more advanced treks which will range in duration from 1-2+ hours for shorter excursions to full-day expeditions.
Prior to each hike, we'll provide you with all the specific details you need to know, including the estimated time and level of difficulty, so you can choose which one aligns with your preferences and abilities. We'll finalize the hike details and timing one week prior, once we have a better grasp of the weather conditions and what will be the most suitable option for the time.
